Custom software for factories

Serio.Us had two factories, one in China and one in the USA. The company had several problems with its production process, including tracking parts, keeping documentation and creating unique serial numbers for its products. These problems delayed production, which in turn hurt customer satisfaction.

Solution:

We built software that let them keep track of documentation and parts, generate unique serial numbers and create serials for individual parts. It was designed to scale easily, so it could be used in both the Chinese and the American factory.

The first step was to identify which parts and documents needed tracking. We worked closely with the company to understand their requirements and build a complete list.

Next, we built a serial number generator that let the company assign unique serial numbers to its products easily. This let them follow production and distribution of every product and spot any problem quickly.

Alongside the serial number generator we also built purchase order (PO) tracking, so the company could follow the status of every PO and make sure it was meeting its production targets.

Results:

The software had an immediate effect on production. Parts and documentation were tracked more efficiently, and the serial number system let the company find problems with its products quickly. Production delays dropped significantly and customer satisfaction went up.

Because the software scaled, the company used it in both the Chinese and the American factory. That streamlined production and improved communication between the two plants.

Overall, the software gave the company an efficient, scalable way to track parts and documentation, generate unique serial numbers and follow POs. Production improved significantly, and with it customer satisfaction and revenue.
